THE BUZZ: Cameron D. is working the hard-R angle as her career rejuvenation continues. (She next co-stars in the Gambit remake penned by the Coen Bros.) Jake Kasdan has the experience (he's directed Walk Hard and Orange County) but I don't think he's made a great comedy yet, and screenwriting team Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky didn't make the most hilarious transition from the small-screen ("The Office") to the big (Year One). While I've been waiting for a high-school comedy that focuses more on teachers than students, the redband trailer's humor feels a bit forced and, frankly, Justin Timberlake's character seems piped in from another dimension. Is the end of the trailer essentially the conclusion of the movie?
